There are just too many bad weight loss programs to list them all and many more popping up every day. However, the vast majority of the bad programs fall under 6 basic types of programs. If any weight loss program you are considering falls into one of these categories DO NOT use them!
The Following Six Weight Loss Programs DO NOT WORK and are PLAIN BAD FOR YOU!
Low Carb Programs
You have probably tried low-carb, Atkins-style diets, or at least heard of them. These diets do not work. They are much too strict, not sustainable, and make your life miserable as your body does not function properly without carbs causing headaches, irritability and loss of sleep. Low carb diets will actually cause you to gain weight after the initial weight loss.
Low Fat Programs
You know all these so called “low fat” foods that are sold in your local supermarket? These foods are typically calorie ridden and will actually make you gain more weight! This is just one of the fallacies that we will uncover for you! Low fat foods DO NOT equal weight loss.
Your body requires food to function. Losing weight the wrong way by not eating is actually worse for you than gaining weight. If you find a program that tells you to eat very little, drink only liquids, or something else that seems “crazy”, don’t do it. It will affect the way your brain functions and slow your metabolism down to a GRINDING HALT! Starving your body of “food” will decrease how quickly you burn calories, thus causing further yo-yo weight gain.
Diet Pop & Sugar Substitution Programs
Your body needs sugars to function. Fake sugar, or ones with no carbohydrates within them are not good for your body. Not only are they chemical compounds that are composed of nasty stuff like poisonous “Chlorine”, they trick your body into thinking you are full. Guess what happens after your body learns about this trick you played on it? It is HUNGRY for anything, causing you to snack on a full bag of Doritos. Diet foods are not necessarily a good choice!
Pre-Package Food Diet Programs
Many of these foods are worse for you than foods you can make from your own home. Not only that, pre-packaged food diets (like Jenny Craig) can cost you up to $500 per month to maintain! That is more than most families spend on groceries in an entire month. How does this make sense? Pre-packaged diets are expensive and not sustainable!
Hollywood Fad Diets
Diet fads that are popular in Hollywood get a lot of attention. There are the the ridiculous “24 hour miracle” diets, “48 hour miracle” diets, “cookie” diets… Let’s get real, these are quick fix diets that do not provide the nutrition that a person needs to maintain a healthy weight. How many times have you seen these people pack the weight back on just a few months after pushing these ridicules diets (Kirstie Alley, Oprah Winfrey…) Any diet that requires eating special foods or drinks is a quick fix, not a realistic and healthy approach!

Notice that 4 of the items were related to food and only one was exercise. This is because diet is 80% of the battle, and exercise is only 20%. Many overweight people get enough exercise already, but what they “eat” prevents them from getting that fit, healthy waistline!
The food you eat will either make you lose weight or gain weight. Conventional wisdom has always told us to eat our breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. However, there is more to it than this…and actually eating 3 big meals per day is not good for our body.
